The example there stated that the Core perpetrators's character were deleted but not those that were not involved in the raid. Curiously, Core rapidly recovered from getting nuked.

I have distinct memory of posting about this earlier. However I couldn't find my post, at least from this thread.

Devs declaring certain faction to be free game for bug exploiting was generally a bad idea. OF course it seemed fitting, ironic punishment at first glance. However this opened up the possibility of killing pretty much anybody (in this case Bob Dole, if not firts then one of the first people to reach stat cap) and then simply claim that they thought they were part of the faction declared free game.
