Opinions vary. There was some changes to gardening mid to late world 11 (maybe it was w10?) that rubbed the community the wrong way. The changes were reverted after a week or two. Wow the pushback on that change....

Did subsequent patches after that "buff forageables" the way jorbtar intended or did they just throw up their hands and never bothered with that idea again?

That's what I wonder. Two world restarts and no real changes to gardening. (There was a small buff a short while ago; don't recall the details.) If anything major is going to be done, world resets are the time to do it. My guess is that they'd still like to do something, but haven't really shared anything on the matter. Some changes actually have been reluctantly accepted (a few major changes to combat over the years, curios). That gardening change had the most vocal crowd against it since the curios were added 10 years ago.

Gardening is dumb and a mistake, but I think the consensus solution is just to expand foraging content over time, and leave gardening the way it is

So Jorb/loftar is anything note in the dev stream or threads made since (as requested) going to be added?

Are we going to get any more information before launch?

Spawning - in the stream it said it would most likely be what was done in world 12 but you'll consider it.
Quality of Nodes - Make a write-up people did. Any changes?
Credo Changes- You removed a bunch but haven't given any indication of what you're hoping the new perks will do.
Map - lots of talk about how the map and landmass will be, even questions about sharing worlds prior to release etc.
Data thread - where is the information that was party discussed e.g. animal kills, players deaths, highest xyz. People love this information.
What Season will we start in?

i'm sure many other questions also.

i MAY try this world but honestly... i am around since 2014 and i'm tired of having to re-learn the game every time i come back, only to find that it's just mostly another set of chores and barred contents for those who won't have 200 alts and bot to no-life.

Gardening needs to go, plain and simple. Hit the delete button on garden pots and the Gardener credo before tomorrow and W13 will already be a better world just from that one simple act.

I get it, the feature sounds good on paper and it makes sense, people have been cultivating plants in pots for a long time.

But what it did was to kill the last remaining reason anyone needed to leave their base and it resulted in general stagnation. Not leaving your base means less random player encounters, even made worse by there being less trade as well due to garden pots. Just look at morels, they have become a decent trading good for newer players because you can't grow them in pots.

And garden pots can't even be considered "fun". No one can tell me that they think building and managing hundreds of garden pots is fun and engaging gameplay.
