It wasn't identical at all though. Closer to it but still had most of current combat things in it (with exception of skills now being buffs to defence/attack bar instead of defences, which was a clusterfuck) and added more skills to use straight from the start, with very bad balance (it was a test server so that's okay).

I don't say they don't need to bring old combat back, I just wanted to shittalk some shitters that talk big and know nothing rly. I mean it would definitely be cool for me but they can do something even better, perhaps. Just stop spreading your nostalgia nonsense with no arguments to beat ours or basing them on completely outdated things.

Fixes were already proposed by devs and people - no hitboxes for signs is the easiest one, but not necessarily best.

I'm not denying combat. I questions people's "advancedness" if they need to rely on four backups and wacky game flaws.

Noobs arent meant to be able to hunt a fucking mammoth or a troll, noobs are meant to die to boars and then become good enough to kill boars, then die to bears and become good enough to kill bears. If a noob that started playing 1 week ago can 1v1 a mammoth cuz the combat system lets him do that it means the combat system is bad, becouse its Haven&Hearth not a random MMORPG.

Both current and legacy systems are exploitable. I think i can kill any animal except troll with 5 ua (at least i killed a deer with 3 ua at the first hours of the world)
But i actually think it doesn't matter. PvE can be balanced easily. If the real problem of the new combat system was PvE then it's kinda strange for me

I feel like animals are too easy in current system because of how powerful armor is. Definitely need some stats to beat them though and it's gonna be harder for newbies than people who have experience, of course, but animals being hard to kill is kind of a good thing too. Trolls are a joke in this game whereas in Legacy they were more of an achievement to kill solo (for some time at least).

Cliffs are easily exploitable with animals, Bunsey was killing bears for us with like 8 uac at the start of W9.

So how is this fabled W7 combat so much different from worlds 3-5? Because in those combat was all about exploity BS like alts calling thunder on you while you bloodlust for instant filling of attack bar. The system was never used as intended, so it's kinda hard to properly assess it without fixing ALL of the exploits, and by the time you do that it wouldn't resemble the original system at all because a lot of those exploits were in the very core of the combat system.

Seriously though, you "oldfags" somehow see that if someone is criticizing your obsession with legacy combat, he's automatically perfectly fine with current combat system. I, for one, don't like current PvP because it's linear and has very obvious choices with zero variety. But I don't want some dusty old system, I've played legacy for a while and didn't care much for such complicated and flawed combat. Calling people "stupid" just 'cause you were good in something a while back and now someone doesn't acknowledge that and doesn't want your "thing" to be reinstated, - it is, well, stupid.

I mean I didnt see people complain about PVE too much, the endgame and PVP is what needs changes. Noobs wanted colorful instruments that they can play while roleplaying a wandering musician and they got these, now players that are actually propeling the whole market and balance in the game should get their PVP and endgame so we don't get bored and quit.
