Any word on how much longer the two of you need before the game comes up?

Chances are they won't tell us until the game comes up

~An hour or so. We are mostly ready, but need to seed the Ring of Brodgar and some such nonsense.

Another reasons why I think the prelude 1 sub model sounded better; new players might be put off more by having lower exp/gain rates rather than not being able to attain high stats they might never get anyway.

High stats like .. 60? Cause they would've never seen 60 with the old model, now they will eventually. And to be honest if they didn't like the game enough to get to 60 in something by accident then they won't care how slow they progress. At that point they're just derping around , not trying to be competitive with the l33t-00bR-haxx0rZ

The difference is small enough that any seasonable new player should realize it won't make much of a difference.

Are there any big changes in the game engine? Old custom clients will work?
