It's silly that a farmer's hat can be more buffed out in strength than my (pretty much now useless) bear cape. Also, my bear cape already has some teeth on it, teeth was required to make it in the first place. I killed a bear and am wearing it's scalp on my head, how can you tell me that doesn't make me feel a LITTLE more powerful by default?

Partial points of this one is to allow player to wear what they will want to wear for lookings, not what they want to wear for bonus.

you can only double your stats... if you have a base of 11 stealth, then you can only have 22 stealth at max

Same complaint as others, bear cape is now worthless. When wearing armor while mining it is difficult to regain previous strength bonus due to limited clothing slots and expensive gild item.

The changes might not seem like a huge deal to more advanced players with large amounts of disposable resources but it's incredibly frustrating now.

Just feels like the game has become all about grinding the RNG on massive quantities of garbage clothing items until you hit the jackpot and manage to gild one multiple times. Why bother with higher quality stuff when the % chance doesn't improve much and RNG will fuck you every damn time?

Bleh.

Eh, that's still silly to me. Why would you wear farming gear to a war other than for the "lulz"?

I mean I like more customization, but I don't think this is the best way of being about it.

My issue is that I believe there should be more basic information on a gild accessories before you craft it and not have to look up a wiki.

I can't use the custom clients, so I use the one programmed by the developers. Things are mysterious to me and they shouldn't be. The more complex this get, the more time you spend clicking back and forth between a wiki. I know discovery is an important element in the game, but again, increased complexity causes frustration.

Bear Capes I can see having a large impact, but otherwise? Int and charisma buffs?

The effect of a bear cape should for that matter be fairly easy to reproduce with a couple of teeth.

Most of the more significant stat buffs come from rings anyway, no?

Farmer's hat, fox hat, ashen robes... lynx cape? Lawspeaker's stuff?

Agi buffs from ranger's gear I guess could matter a lot.

Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but I have to admit that I'm not entirely sure what the big deal actually is.

Items that take 2 slots should have 2 Gild spaces by default.
What about:
Hunters Belt
Poor Mans Gloves
Why they don't contain slots?

what gear did you actually have that you were getting stat buffs from?

shortening what i said to "complaints" is a little crass of you.
I Traded for a high q bear cloak for one, also int gear, no way for me to make the int gilding currently, those are the major things. Bear cloak is now horrid (im better off using straps from bear hide to make high q linen sets), a bear tooth applied to it has 1% chance whereas a beartooth applied to a bat cape has 2% chance....This should have been considered and balanced a little before implementing.
It is insanely easy to up stats extremely high now where-as others are near impossible for some people that before were alot easier to craft gear to up their stats.
Smaller groups dont have huge stockpiles of goods to re-dump into crafting stat gear, examples of this are things like the lawspeaker gear, for people that dont have lots of wool or who traded for high q sets of int or str items or even ranger gear, they cant spam gilding into multiple sets of that gear, they get one chance to get their gear back to where it was and then will need to trash the item they traded for and trade again for a new version of it. This reminds me of the pay model, if it was handled better it would of gone over much better. Dropping it mid world with no warning just isnt great, especially if people had traded sub tokens for gear that they now cant use to the same effect as they had before (not that im trading sub tokens....thats insane).

Over-all i dont mind it, just there almost seems to be no balancing to it, and it does change play style alot and for people that dont have huge supplies of goods and used their limited resources on crafting gear before this patch it really hurts their progress and sets them back a good bit.

Jorb already gave a response to that complaint though smileyguy, I thought it was pretty reasonable. In case you missed it:
