Please no. Teleportation is, which quite handy for the user, bad game mechanic wise.

I like them more than roads...

a man need only strike another to make him evil."

If Legacy did not have the $15 verification requirement to play, I Know for an absolute fact there would be many people drop Hafen and come back to Legacy. Not everyone is in a situation where they can afford to pay $15 per account to play, so by default they are left to play the free version.

They were 0 risk travel on large distances. At least roads can be blocked and camped.

I'm pretty sure even if Legacy were free the majority would be playing Hafen. World 7 is unbelievably stale (like 3 years stale), doesn't get updated and the majority of mechanics are pretty shit. While the graphics have an appeal to nostalgia and the combat system is arguably better, Hafen gets regular updates and the devs occasionally listen to player feedback.

there is nothing better about it, and to claim otherwise would, indeed, just be ignorant.

Take away the $15 per account verification and reset the world, then let's see if you Hafen can even stand a chance against legacy playerbase.

You're wrong and jorb is wrong.

Hafen would blow Legacy out of the water when it comes to playerbase because it gets constant updates and generally the devs' attention.

Where Jorb is wrong is in that there's nothing better about Legacy. Hafen is just not even close to being objectively better. From the shitty unoptimized client, to the much more stats-based and less skill-based combat than in legacy, to the crippling effect of the satiation and hunger system that also force you into a specific playstyle instead of letting you do whatever you want, to the horrible helmet sprites...

Don't get me wrong, I think Hafen is generally better than Legacy but so many things about it (specifically, the things I mentioned, although who cares about the helmet sprites) need to be fixed for it to be a good game. Hafen is far from being well done and objectively better. It's on a good path though.

I would say that, given how the haven playerbase reacted towards the developers the night hafen came, the playerbase can be lucky that their accounts still exist since the devs were forgiving enough to not just simply wipe legacy in disgust and walk away toward greener pastures.

Be happy it's still there if you really want it to be. If you can afford being on the internet and spending a noticeable part of your life on a game then you should also be able to cram together 15 bucks for a verification within a reasonable timeframe.

In before the 'no work here': remember that you have internet.

Legacy was overall a better game I think due to it's simplicity and it's forgiveness (even in death for fighters). It's system allowed fights everyday (which happened continuously until he announced hafen release like 3months early).
So many players even quit due to the massive letdown when it came to "You can only play X amount of hours a week then locked out" sort of shit that got pulled (which lost atleast 10+ active players that I knew).
I've also felt that Hafen the way it is takes up way too much attention without easier automation. Legacy had a public bot client(yes i know you hate bots) but it allowed people to do things such as farming to feed their animals or leather or anything of the like while still remaining pretty casual at the game with no stress. I personally ran farming bot, mulberry leaf picker, ramchecker, butcher/cooking bot and that was all(which some would say is way too much). But it allowed me to run like 2clients doing little crappy tasks while playing other games such as WorldofWarcraft, Dota2, Planetside 2 while they were running which makes the game less stressful to get things done and more enjoyable.
Having to run every single little task makes it become more tedius, especially with everything running so slowly (such as butchering/culling/shearing animals).

Edit: It also allowed me to become a pretty successful hermit when it came to production and sales (which further promoted trading to keep the game alive).

Wait 6 years or however old Haven was before Hafen and I can guarantee you'll have all those bots on a public client in this game too. "the game had player-made clients with bots" is not a good argument for how good a game is.

I was saying about the simplicity of the game when it was like that which made it enjoyable, you retard.
