Sure, I decide when I'll have to stand around for 8 consecutive hours I don't have in 24 hours time. My timetable changes within that quite often enough, especially at this time of year when I'm on call functionally speaking 24/7.

Regardless of WHEN it happens anyway, it's still too much for nothing. Hell we have difficulty getting Pathfinder nights going, never mind 8 hours of LOSS PREVENTION, a completely different beast from actually feeling like you're gaining something at least. These siege changes benefit nobody but dedicated groups of griefers and that's about it. Anyone wanting to enjoy a solo experience gets guard duty for a full day's work every two weeks or risk getting deleted because you had the sheer gall to play the game and acquire anything remotely valuable... at least if you can even defend from the raid anyway.

How about we let the devs decide how to fix the problem before we rant any more? Jorb has clearly stated they're taking the feedback and reconsidering how it should work.

Yeah and when is that gonna happen? Only a week left and if they already "reconsider" these changes, there still might be some changes that have to be done. If they only lower the vulnerability window from 8h to 4h for example it's not gonna fix anything.

8 hours is indeed excessive though, and the devs said they'll look into that, but they've been quiet on what precisely they're going to change.


Yeah what most people fail to get is it doesn't even matter if you are online or not. If the raiders come with 2 guys when you're 1 guy or heck even one beefed up guy (scale numbers to your own situation from noob hermit all the way to non raidery realm capital) wtf you gonna do then to defend yourself? Defensive siege structure take longer to dry than their ram. Destroying the ram takes way longer than it takes to dry. Getting out to fight is most likely a death sentence and staying in until they broke in is also a death sentence. At best you can save up a few more shit but more likely than not you'd have to go afk cause your mom/wife/kid needs you and 20 min later you be ded.

So don't worry kids VDZ says it's ok since you get to choose when you get fucked in the ass making it a much more pleasurable experience.

Well, team with more numbers, better prepared, better trained - wins the fight. That's just as intended. Indestructable defences would be weird. While i still think siege needs some balance for defensive structures.

If you don't like such cruel realism you should look for some no-PvP game, i guess.

I mean you're partially right in that they've confirmed they've heard the response but a great way to let your thoughts be known is to actually speak them. If people don't "rant" then there's a risk it might be misconstrued as not a contentious point. That's the entire idea.

It's better if sieging is impossible than if it would be too easy, you should only bother sieging someone if he is your mortal enemy and has something very valuable, sieging random hermitages should be a waste of time.


A simple fix would be to make the power level go down by 2/3 levels instead of going back to 0 BUT power level should stay at this level until there are any enemy siege engines on the claim. That + making the vulnerability window shorter. Really noone wants to spend 8 hours every 2 weeks looking at their screen just to make sure noone puts a ram down at their walls.

Yea m8 24 hours of sieging and 20 minutes of sieging is exactly the same, I really don't know what they're complaining about haha
