Why wouldn't you want people to find a community where they can freely ask questions and receive answers in real time as opposed to the forums where 90% of posts are trolling. I guess we shouldn't advertise the wiki either because it's not designed by joftar and might contain false information?

Nothing wrong with advertising it as a community discord, but to claim its the official haven and hearth discord when it’s not is blatantly false. Further it is clearly allowing RMT sales to occur giving the game an even worse look when players think that is all happening with permission from the developers. Not doing anything about it and giving express permission are rather different from each other.

Well I don't think there were any actual RMT transactions done on this specific discord, at least i can't find any in the trade chats (tbf it didn't exist when the world was really active). I think you are confusing it with the old discord that allegedly permits shit like doxxing and RMT. And from what we've seen devs have no issues with us calling it the Official Haven & Hearth discord, as they are both there and jorb even spoke on the topic:

They don't have an issue with it now because they don't think that far ahead into the future as is the case most of the time. Do you really think given the fact that they are doing a steam release, that only having a discord ran by the community and in which they have no control over is a good idea? They need one of their own that they have complete and total control of. I'm not saying it's going to be the case for sure, but who knows if the owner of such a community discord won't just up and remove it one day for whatever reason. That's not a risk they should take, plus including all the other nonsense that might happen.

Yes mainly I'm basing my assumptions of RMT on what has occurred previously, but statements like these seem like they are indicating the current discord and not any other previous iterations.

I’ve shared an image showing everything I’ve purchased in the game from the store, not including the hats I’ve traded for using real money. I’m aware that RWT is a concern, but all of these trades took place on the official Discord, where both developers are present. Many people openly discuss real money prices for hats there, and there has never been an indication that this is against the rules.

Their stated goal was literally to shit up the forum to the point that it was unusable to force people into their dogshit Discord. Devs are aware, and clearly don't care. It is what it is.

Well it would be great if devs were invested enough to do so, I would gladly swap to a dev moderated discord, yet seeing their choice of moderators on the forums from the past to the present I dare to say it would go pretty poorly and they wouldn't moderate it by themselves. Hence why i promote IMO the best alternative to what you suggest.

There's only one discord that has seemingly managed to trick quite a few players into thinking it has any official capacity at all, no others have done that thus far.
