Except I didn't say that? Nothing in game is required, although a grind IS required if you want similar stats to what was available pre-patch.

It took 10 nettle pants and 6 shirts to produce 4 pieces with stats similar to before the change. That's 56 nettles plus the junk for the gild extra than before.

If you want agility similar to a pre gutted lynx cape you need 160 bones, 16 string, and mats for 8 pieces of gear that I can't be bothered to list out Before you needed 1 lynx cape made from a string and a hide.

If you want strength similar to a pre gutted bear cape you need 8 bear teeth, so you need to kill somewhere between 2 to 8 bears. That's up to 800% more bears than before.

The only example that's arguably requires less of a grind farming since for most people getting feather trinkets is easier than a druid cloak and I'm guessing that's why you chose that as an example. But you immediately after acknowledge how difficult it is to stack int and brush it off with "eat fish and pies" which contradicts your claim of "everybody complaining about this doesn't understand the change".

I originally said grinding multiple sets of gear and RNG based crafting wasn't fun. If you enjoy the change I can respect that but I can't follow your logic when you say there's no grind.

you can make perfectly reasonable sets 1-slot of gear with little effort, in most cases better than before the patch. if you want to grind multiple slots you can. it's not required.

also keep in mind that this isn't the final version of the system.

Video about character appearance was released the same day as the patch. Coincidence or some greater conspiracy?

In real life you don't associate miners with bear capes but I've played Haven long enough to most likely feel weird if I were to wear anything else than bear cape while mining.

For complete minmaxing, not getting the critical success is a failure. Just because it says "5% success" and not "95% failure" doesn't mean it's not failure.
Overall I like the system, as suggested before, it'd be quite lovely if instead of arbitrary fail chances the clothing would have static amount of sockets depending on the item/slot. This should already have been implemented on clothing that uses more than 1 slot yet apparently has only 1 socket.
There's also few gilding items that give completely different bonuses to the skills used to make them which seems odd.
There could be a lot more different gilding items aswell.

I think it needs some changes, because now items which takes 2 slots are worthless... For example bear cape, lynx capes etc. It's better to use hat + bat wing, because you can put two tooths into it instead of one, or even more if you are lucky...

Gilding system a bit difference to Salem's slotting, i like it. Also good to see armore and any old bonuses on it. Slottiong only so bad, I think better save armore class after change damage model. Ofcorse it can be difference then now but plate armore must alweys give defence without any gilding.
About bear and lynx capes it realy useless now. Add more slots for it is also step back to Salem system. How about add little bonus without gilding to it? not like old, but something make it useble?

even making 1-slot sets of gear is MORE grindy than it was before especially if you already had the stats in gear, how can you not see that? Theres more mats required by a good bit.

Personally, a disengaging update. Just another remedial, tedious task that will confuse anyone thats new.
