It is also an option not to use it and not a single game which I bought used regional pricing, it being an option doesn't make steam fair toward people in poor countries, since the option to NOT have regional pricing exists as well, and it's being used by the majority of devs

one american might think $15 for csgo is no big deal, but here it's a significant amount of money (about 3 lunches for a whole family could be had with $15, not to mention the fact that people with average jobs just don't have extra money to spend on things that are not mandatory here)

Sure there's games that have regional pricing, but my point stands, as there's also games that don't

I was just pointing out that under the steam platform it's possible, whereas in their current store it would be a lot of work for Jorbtar to set up regional pricing in a way that can't be easily abused. That developers choose not to use it doesn't mean the platform itself is being unfair by nature.

ye ok I'm not saying "fuck you valve" or anything like that, just saying that living in poorer countries sucks if you're an aspiring gamer

Pretty sure Xsolla handles this if it's desired. And there are other companies out there that handle transaction systems for businesses (online, catalog, and local) that can deal in currency exchange rates (at optimal fees) and regional/local pricing. Yeah, they can all be cheated at some level, some being harder than others, which is why a lot of publishers don't use regional pricing.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Steam makes it a lot harder to cheat them by restricting your login IP, restricting who you can trade items with, and using a lot of data analysis to catch cheaters in the system. Even if Xsolla can make regional pricing, I don't see how the devs could cheaply mimic those abilities which are pretty important to keeping the system functional.

And that's beyond the community backlash potential.

Doubt it. Send me your co-ords via PM and I'll come bash your Palisade or Ram your brickwall for you.
I had a retardedly huge signature and have gotten this embarrassing replacement to show for it.

Is there a Legacy Renaissance going on? My base was raided recently by palibasher(s) with Stealth so high that I couldn't even get a single scent.

I wish it was possible to run local Legacy servers for singleplayer and private parties. OFC this is not gonna happen, so just getting the tables (there's a lot of them: FEP, LP, equipment stats, spawn rates, PERC*EXP visibility, QL formulas etc.) to remake the Legacy would be enough.

Sadly not all of this is on the wiki, the spawn rates are something what is not listed anywhere (especially the fishing system) and many QL formulas are missing.

The raid took place very recently, but I admit I wasn't playing very regularly for a year or so, I may have missed a 72 hour long gap for the scents to disappear, but that's rather unlikely. It must have been a raid because a gate to our vault was destroyed with the rest of the palisade untouched (that eliminates the probability of the gate decaying). The sad thing is I was robbed of ql80+ rings which were a gift from two Russian titans befriended with our former Lawspeaker and it sets me back significantly. Now I keep all the most precious stuff on an alt.
