Now that new siege mechanics are off tha table, perhaps you wanna take a look at ideas for how to change combat a bit?

Thank you kindly

It will, indeed, be displayed as a percentage in game.

A nice thing that change, but will u consider a mechanic that allows to lower this power level automatically? I am speaking of claims that isolates quest givers or local resources. I'd suggest that if no meaningful actions were taken by owner of pclaim or by any dweller of vclaim, then power level drifts toward 0. So if there is little to no activity that can give an event like Fashioned with Love or Sowing Time or Pounding Metal (and the like) during some timeframe, the claim will become more and more vulnerable.

Doesn't sound much different to claim shields in W10, I like it :)

Comparable to shield system where the shield capacity raises gradually and maximum amount of shield only reached after 4 weeks.

So if a village has triple wall consisting of palisade and brickwall at each ring, that gives 7 days of continuous siege to break in.
I consider myself a carebear, but that is ridiculous.

It's not a timer per wall layer, though. It is a timer per siege engine. Once a siege engine is dry enough to smash walls, it can smash through any number of them.

After much deliberation, and very reluctantly, we have decided to scrap most of the claim changes entirely, and simply make these changes.

This actually makes me sad, and makes me give a breath of relief. It sounded like it was going to be intense and interesting, and while I'm glad I won't have to worry about it, I hope to see it revised in the future.

CLAIMS
----------------
  • Village & Personal Claims now have a "Power Level". ranging from 0 to 1.
  • The "Power Level" of a newly established claim increases from 0 to 1 over the course of four RL weeks. (E.g: After one week the power level is 0.25, after two weeks the power level is 0.5, and so on.)
  • A Battering Ram requires 24h * the Claim's Power Level of drying time before it can destroy Palisades on the claim, and 32h * the Claim's Power Level of drying time before it can destroy Brick Walls on the claim.
  • The stronger claim always applies in case of overlapping claims.
  • Anyone can find out the "Power Level" of claim by inspecting it.
  • The idea behind this change is to provide a meaningful establishment time for new claims, during which they are easier to attack.

Welp, took less than a week for that siege system to evaporate, I was kinda excited to see how it would turn out.

Will you still need a consent to overlap hostile pclaims? And if not is there still a mechanic with "personal claim age" that affects the amount of time you need to wait out if you cover it with your Village claim before you can use "Revoke Claim" ability?
