The problem is that HnH was already an almost dead game, with a few hundred of players online, and my fear is that this is going to limit even more the amount of players in the game, damaging the whole concept of being in a massive multi player online game.

But all of this is just speaking of the players that were already into the game, we already know that the game is good, we already know that the game is worth paying it, but for new players this model is a disaster. I can't get my friends to accept such conditions and there's no sense on playing this game all alone.

Exactly.

It's about the way they did it , you can't make a massive change like this without telling anyone and think you'll get away with a simple " oups sorry LOL we forgot to tell you about it"
Charging almost the same amount than other big MMO is kinda absurd too and I understand ppl complaining about it
( I don't care much to be honest tho :p)

Imagine if they had said something?

The current 100 playerbase of Haven 1 would have cried afoul before hand and made bad press. Just because that's the kind of vindictive assholes some of them are. Just like you will always find people like that in life.

If you don't mind paying then stop complaining sign up for a sub and have fun. Have you found a mountain yet? Wait til u do!

I don't complain , I try to discuss about the issues.
I value honesty , crazy I know and transparency.
10$ per month is nothing it's a fact , you have fun for less than 10 cents an hour ( if you're not a filthy casual :p) , but you can have products that required 10x or 100x more ressources for the same amount of money , I understand ppl who are mad about it.

Btw if you could stop insulting everyone and shit on the community that you don't know it would be great..

I dont see how its a disaster. You can play for free for 48 hours. Then 12 hours a month after that.

Then you can verify your account that gives you 36 hours a month. For 15 Dollars. LESS than any MMO on the market to purchase. (Verifying the Account is the same as purchasing the game)

Then a sub fee. Which atleast in my country is less than any other MMO out there.

This model is the best ive seen and im not kidding. I hate DLC and money grabs.

This is not a money grab. The only people that are complaining are cheapskates.

What's probably going to happen is:
People make new accounts solely to kill people, and now because it's payed playtime, people will get more butthurt about it.
Bots will still run rampant.
Cheaters will be around.
It still amazes me to see how quickly it all went south, from 1800 people to 300 in mere hours.

How do you even get to these conclucions? You have to pay for bots and you have to pay for those killer accounts too. If anything this sub model will help a lot with both problems since those who do either of the two things won't invest a cent into the game.

Hate to say it but someone with 12h of playtime isn't going to kill even the most aloof veteran.

There you go again, making assumptions. No, it would have actually prompted a discussion to improve upon the system and to inform people ahead of time and in an official way, instead of this shitstorm. Not informing people before now was a mistake, plain and simple.

The thing you don't understand is those assumptions are based on stuff that's happened before. People absolutely lose their shit over tiny changes in this game, heck - everyone hated the curio system when it came out, lots of people threatened to quit and stuff. There would still be this big discussion anyways, the only difference is that it'd of happened a few days earlier. I might not be solid on the subscription system, but I think it's going to do the game some good.

Of course there are always people that lose their shit, but waiting until the last possible second to spring it on people only makes things worse.

People who make accounts solely to kill people wont be able to unless they are paying!

Bots will be able to be weeded out (atleast in my opinion) when people have registered verified accounts. (Atleast this is what I would do) Anyone caught botting with a verified account gets the rest of their sub refunded and banned :P

But thats just me.

Well if it wasn't for the DDOS if thats what it was. And for all the negativity instead of trying the game out people might have had some fun.

As it is, seems like there are alot of spoiled brats in our midst.
