As much as I'd like to call Snail a dumb doomer, it's basically impossible to honestly compare world 7 (now titled 'Legacy') and the current version, without admitting that certain aspects of the game haven't been effectively neutered. I still maintain that the Legacy has some polar opposite issues, but arguably the current version is even further skewed away from the hypothetical sweet spot where both the people who want this game to be "Stardew Valley Online" and "Lord of the Flies Simulator" could enjoy different parts of it.
See
this thread for further reading, basically one could say that the game has been covered with bubblewrap but somehow in a way that is not obvious, and "poor helpless newbs" still get their heads bashed in on the few remaining hard surfaces. If you'd want to be negative/realist (depending on your perspective of Jorbtar) you could say they have managed to build the worst possible PvP system, one where you can't kill your opponent in a faction PvP fight, but noobs still die because they try to swim away, oblivious to the fact that deep water is actually more deadly than a two-handed battleaxe to the skull.
