Is it too much to ask for any forum persona with it's under-motto in CAPS or BOLD to be hindered by at least 30% in character developement rate? >.<
Just kiddin' ofc. Also I can't remember what's the synonym for the "forum under-motto" is right now.

On a more serious note, how come there's so little praise for Granger's selfless offering of a year's server payment tribute? I mean, I'd play that. Some forum folk would like too, judging from their posts. If would not strain J&Lo much (as far as I understand the mechanics).

As would P.Griffin say, "WHY ARE WE NOT FUNDING THIS?"

I don't see how a big world affect people willing to play with/against eachother.
Unless you want to play with ppl unwilling to play with you ofcourse.

There are a lot of players who'd like a pve server , I'm not one of them but it's not the question , a bigger map is a good compromise ( and was the reason behind the size of W8 in the first place)
W8 size at the time was a major issue because you couldn't join your friends without spending ten of hours.
With beacon it's not a problem anymore.

You guys want a bigger population , the devs to live from the game , but at the same time want full pvp and small map to kill all the noobs without any troubles.
Yeah that might be difficult to have everything ...

Haven is, and has been, a labour of love, and we will -- barring the unforseeable -- keep it going in one capacity or another for as long as we are at all able to, and money is not much of a factor in that. If, however, our attention has to be diverted elsewhere -- which, presently, is going to become the case -- that will, naturally, affect the rate of development.

Care to expand upon this a bit? Are you guys working on a new game? Non gaming related? Assisting with Salem?

How long will your attention be diverted?

For me personally, when it came time to start playing and deciding whether to subscribe or not I took into account pretty heavily the fact that updates and communications had been on an upswing/more frequent.

Big worlds just kill the game, world 8 was just empty and barren. Beacons didn't solve all the troubles with it.

Yeah for the most vocals players of the forum.
The ones who enjoy raiding.

I mean at some point we should realize that the population is very low and that a lot of potential players are not willing to play because of full pvp / permadaith / griefing and different abuses.
Half of this thread is about a pve server , permadeath etc for a reason.
There are players who would enjoy to play without the possibility of being murdered every time they exit their gate.
We could try a big world with beacon at the start of the world to let the "pve guys" do their stuff and the pvp guys agree tostay within the center area.
Or we can change nothing , let the pve guys slowly leave , and ask ourselves why the devs started another project.

again I'm not for a pve server or against perma-death , I would live far away tho. But at some point you guys need to realize something has to change ....

Having some AI enemies to fight rather than fighting the community would help keep players from turning from achievers into killers. And frankly we need more achievers, explorers and socialisers in this game.

If you don't know what I'm arsing about... Bartle's Taxonomy
"...the dungeon and shackles are already at my threshold to show me here and now my eternal disgrace. Only you can work the miracle to make life possible for a soul so imperiled by doubt, O Atoner for all, exalted beyond saying." - St. Gregory of Narek, Book of Lamentations, Prayer 1.

You are much loved! Love in return!

as i understand the world (and that may very well be totally wrong) a bigger map won't stop people with a raging hate boner against DIS, AD or Kaios (that seems to be the name drop to kill people for no reason) from engaging in hostile actions against them, but it reduces the chances of sprucecap1 to come across people that kill anything and anyone that cross their path.
