This sets a precedent that allows for bug-raid-kamikaze, with the chars of the victims not getting revived. Pretty poor restitution, otherwise good job, but let's focus on the negatives here for a moment.

Poor Headshot though. Shoulda kept his char in my opinion.

I think it's entirely fair. Reward for reporting the bug, punishment for abusing the bug.

Though now that people get banned for exploiting, I do wonder about the question I posed in the other thread: How far can we go without being punished for it?

VDZ wrote:Now, the real question is: Where do we draw the line?

Should it be allowed to collect Dragonflies in a swamp using the horse's magical swampwalking abilities?

Should it be allowed to one-shot animals using the bow at 1 MM (before the fix)?

Should it be allowed to abuse the horse's hitbox to fight animals above your level?

Should it be allowed to trespass into a claimed cave without Trespassing using a horse?

There's varying degrees of bug abuse (from design mistake to blatant abusable bug) and varying degrees of harm caused (from minor advantage for user to complete annihilation of other player). At what point does it constitute 'abuse' and should abusers be punished for it?

Can we still safely abuse obvious design mistakes and minor bugs? Is anything that affects other players off-limits?

I think you can abuse such bugs until it intrerrupts other players.

I think that when you're using critical bugs without reporting them to hurt others then you should be nuked.

If you're using globally known, just for whatever reason not fixed bugs, to gather resources while the rest of the world is doing the same then thats just part of the game ( haven always had some bugs in it - like old one branch to burn/cook anything bug). I mean no one gets hurt and since everyone is doing the same no one is falling behind, it's not unlike the custom clients resource radar in old haven.
