You are aware that new pclaims start out with no shield?

They don't have to be new though, you can just use any claim inside your village. It'd be easy enough to put up spare claims at the corners of your village now, let them gain the shield, and then expand them if you're ever under siege.

And you wouldn't need too many on hand, simply having one nearby could prolong a siege by another 14 or so hours easily. And doubling the length of a siege is enough to deter almost anyone.

Omg, that's actually brilliant :D

I love how the Haven community is so good at weaponizing every game mechanic.

Well, I've already dealt with it before. It's a pretty glaring flaw.

Myeah, I guess that's a thing. That assumes no other pclaims in the village, doe, and I would perhaps not be adverse to making it so that declaiming a damaged pclaim transfers damage to the vclaim, if you really want to go there.

Declaiming yes, destroying no

Otherwise you could raid the pclaim to zero, bash it and then have full reign of the village as well

Also, if you are attempting to remove an active pclaim that had been around since world start you would be required to siege and destroy it, meaning that your claim shield would hit 0 just trying to remove the old claim

If you are unmounted yourself, and can get close enough, you can dismount a rider by right-clicking the horse, and choosing "Dismount Rider", quite simply. You need at least half the strength of the rider to accomplish this, and if the rider is dismounted he is also stunned for a few seconds, longer depending on which angle you dismounted him from. Short stun when approaching the rider head on, medium stun from the sides, and long from behind. The horse has some chance of fleeing when a rider is dismounted in this fashion.

what was the rationale behind this? you say "gankiness" is the problem while making it even more of a problem in the same patch. explain?

jorb wrote:Partly this is due to the damage model

that means you gonna nerf damage? bad idea
because it works both ways - would definitely make it harder to gank but at the same time make it impossible to fight back if you're outnumbered

I thought the same until I realized it only works if you're off your horse, thereby making it entirely pointless in almost every practical sense.

Flee on horseback or turn and fight without the op mounted advantage
