Wasn't the map up in about a week this world? Or maybe I'm just thinking of some images posted by players until the world map had been generated..

hi all,
we spent 60 pages talking about siege and generally about how to make pvp more fun - and thats nice and all, but...

i follow all the new developments posted on forum and i usually can't wait to see the new stuff in game! but i rarely do because most of it is so rare that a casual player like me doesnt even get a chance to witness some of the new content

can you please make stuff like magic beans, orcas or whales, trolls, cave conchs and the such SLIGHTLY more common? i usually play a few times a week and i played all through this world and i havent seen any of the things i just listed

i'm not saying to make everything easily accesible because that would just ruin the fun and make the game boring - but just a little bit more accesible?

Sooner than a week I think. It was quite quick.

First few days, the continents were mapped in about 24 hours once someone discovered rafts didnt get destroyed by deep ocean.

i personally mapped the south continent with a bunch of alts with in 4 hours. then released that data to a bunch of people.
this world was the easyiest to map yet... not sure why.

yawn, endless bitching from the usual suspects every time a new change happens (or as per usual, before it happens, like in this case).
it's obvious that the status quo is unsatisfactory, people join the new worlds to enjoy the freshness of a brand new world as well as to see if things they dislike have changed for the better. them staying or not depends on the latter. i didn't play much of w11 but i know for a fact it's been one of the dullest worlds in a while.
haven unfortunately has a few key problems which just never get fixed. obviously the devs do try to fix them but they're complex issues which is annoying as fuck but that's just how it is. they can't just leave that shit how it was though because progress doesn't get made that way and while it's all good to post your theories about how you think it is, the people that are outright crying for the devs to pull back these changes immediately, without even seeing how they work in real time is baffling. i have my doubts that this new siege system will be the answer too, in fact i'm fairly certain it isn't the answer. a month into the game big villages are never ever going to have their village fall. period. people have already mentioned the solution to becoming unraidable again and surprise surprise it's the same tactic used in previous worlds where you just have a village claim surrounding your core village.
the same people that were content with raiders having to watch over a fucking ram for 24 hours (and longer) are now bitching about having to do some light defending/surveilance for 8 hours and saying that is 'excessive'. yeah that's excessive but expecting attackers to maintain their full forces to stay up for over 24 hours, fatigued and tired as fuck, is fair? no wonder nothing happens when the world matures, that's why the best entertainment we hear about is a group of 30 bored out of their minds people raiding a village they were at war with, in which all but like 2 members of said village have already quit.

whenever i ask people why they've quit this world or that world it's always the same answers and its amazing how those answers have never changed and those reasons are -
>botters making it impossible to play on a level playing field (in particular how they're outright allowed to automate things like farming and baking, shitting out high quality food constantly while said guy is on his main questing away all day)
>boredom due to the majority of the tension being gone the moment you've put your palisade up (let's be real, the only thing you have to worry about after this is your main dying outside of the base, I bet I can count on 1 hand how many times most hermits and small non vet villages have been sieged while they're actually active)
>no stat or skill cap pressuring people into burning themselves out just to try to keep up with botters even though it's literally not possible (can't take a break for a week, you'll fall behind too hard, nobody wants that amount of stress from a game)
>alt abuse is arguably mandatory, nobody is gonna be terraforming land on their main, eating for energy will crucify your hunger meter, hermits need to have alts that can do different jobs, botters have alts on other accounts that they leave running 24/7 while they do what they want on their main. (if we got 1 account which we could have a limited amount of alts on, i'm convinced that alone would be a massive step in the right direction)

to sum it up
1. fuck botters, disallow it and enforce severe punishment for being caught doing it.
2. solve the age old question on how to remove some power from the biggest villages so they aren't literally impenetrable just because they abused a certain layout for building their village, if they become unraidable because they have the most number of fighters then fair enough, they earned that right
3. try a stat and skill cap again, but have it be higher than the last time we tried this. don't underestimate the power of people knowing they can technically catch up to people after an unfortunate death.
4. fuck alts, fuck alt abuse, limit people to 1 account per IP and have a 3 character cap
bonus. fix credos holy shit they're annoying and tedious

i went off on a tangent there but that's just how i roll.
i'm excited for the new world, i'm excited to see how these changes will play out, based jorb, based loftar, but also FUCK j&l too, you feel me?

EDIT - oh and i agree with a lot of other people, fuck the combat deck farming. it's too random, it's too tedious. you can literally get unlucky as shit and not get basic things like take aim, kito and a red reducing defencive skill like artful or zigzag for days. its not uncommon to go like a fucking week missing a key skill because rng keeps giving you pure shit like haymaker.
i wouldn't mind trying legacy combat out too, people have bitched to have it back for a while, might be worth just humouring them and trying it out. maybe that's something for next world though.
combat in this game just lacks SOUL though. we don't even have any of your gay little animations show up over your characters head, combat straight up looks sterile because of this. also move names suck too. take aim or CALL DOWN THE THUNDER, yeah i'm gonna have to pick the latter every single time. spice that shit up a bit with some animations over your characters head when using certain moves just for pure flavor sake.

Now, I'm generally in favor of judging suggestions on their own merit rather than by who posted it, but this is just dumb. Why post this on a throwaway? Does posting on your main account show some bias or serious lack of experience? Did you already post in this thread but want to be seen as two people? If you're going to demand major changes that impact all of us (in a post without capitalization, even), at least have the decency to post from your main account.

His suggestions have a point tho, a bit radical maybe but nevertheless. Any mechanic no matter how good will be abused until we deal with bots.
