Now, I'm generally in favor of judging suggestions on their own merit rather than by who posted it, but this is just dumb. Why post this on a throwaway? Does posting on your main account show some bias or serious lack of experience? Did you already post in this thread but want to be seen as two people? If you're going to demand major changes that impact all of us (in a post without capitalization, even), at least have the decency to post from your main account.

His suggestions have a point tho, a bit radical maybe but nevertheless. Any mechanic no matter how good will be abused until we deal with bots.

It's been pointed out time and time again that you cannot stop bots or alts. Done properly there is zero way to detect them (to give an extreme example, one could just parse the screen and automatically send keyboard and mouse input to automate things, being indistinguishable from normal player behavior; in practice, this can be done far more efficiently on a technical level without being detectable). Likewise, alts are an unsolvable problem in modern society. Twenty years ago it could've been feasible, but today I have easy access to 9 machines capable of running H&H and 3 different IPs to play from, and could easily get more if I put some effort into it. You're never going to stop people from abusing alts, all you can do is mildly inconvenience them (at the expense of genuine players who just want to play multiple characters in a proper way).

Anyone who purchased a subscription between the world reset announcement and the timestamp on this post, will have received both the old and new hats relevant for his or her particular subscription level.

Will this also apply for w12? I want to renew my sub, but I don't want to miss out on the new hats.

We cant stop dedicated botter who know how to code from botting its true but we can discourage majority of players from botting AND socializing with botters by implementing more severe punishment. In the end this is merely a tech race- Jorbtar may implement new bot detection mechanisms, catch couple of botters before rest of them adapt and then cycle repeats. But they can go all in on those caught. With couple of botters villages nuked into oblivion things can change.

I enjoyed reading all 989 words tbh. Brought up some good points. Change always comes with some sour apples, but is necessary to find new features worth keeping. Just an opinion.

So you want this game to be played by dedicated botters only and no casual botters allowed ? That surely will not help the player count.

Are you really that concerned with player counter to raise it with bots?

I’m right there with you on this! Definitely going to be renewing my sub, but I don’t want to miss out on some new hats!

You think bots play for bot pleasure, because bots are bored ?

Behind most of the bots there is a player who thinks some tasks are too grindy or UI is poorly designed. You are of course encouraged to boil your peppers one by one if that is what you consider "fun".

I'm shocked there isn't a Bot Black Market (Like Runescape back in the day for example). This game can easily turn into a "Job" as a hermit once you're set up and have crops and what not going. Hunt, mine, forage, craft, harvest, cook. I love it all, but I know burnout can become a very real thing.
