The mere fact that you have to SUBSCRIBE just to play the game should already set you off. But let's ignore that and focus on price, which is what everyone seem to be doing. Let's say I want to play the game for two years, which is the time I usually play a game before becoming bored of it. That's $144. Show me a game that costs $144. And if I want to come back a few years later, I have to pay even more.

LOL Practically every game you've bought in the last 5 years with the DLC's and pointless crap? If you play civilization 5(great game) how much did you pay throughout its development? Somewhere around 144 dollars.

You know why Everquest and Ultima (some of the first MMO's) did so well? SUB Fees that allowed new content to be created and maintanence and support structures.

You know why those games started sucking and every game since them that copied and pasted those epic games sucked even more? They went free to play and started listening far too much to what the community wants.

A true game isn't what the player wants it to be, it's what the player can affect within the rules of that game that matter. Jorb and Loftar have a dream for Haven I for one will gladly help them fulfill it.

Plus I get to have fun too :D

Now if only the server was up.

At least we agree it's a crappy model.

It's easy to see this isn't true given the sheer amount of "mods" for every single game in existence and how much effort people put into hacking games and modifying them to fit what they want and how popular these modifications are.

But that's cheating. This isn't a single player game. If people want to play a game like that I think I heard of a crappy game called second life lol. As far as I've seen Jorb and Loftar took alot of the communities requests and ideas to heart. As there are many implemented now from things I read in the forums years ago.

If you've ever played Dungeons and Dragons you would nkow that the Game Masters make the rules. I have Skyrim and MOD the crap out of it. But only after I beat it Vanilla unmodded first. Same with Fallout.

You can't compare an MMO with a game that can be modded.

why do you think people would pay for their development if you played another game? lmao honestly it's their job to find investors not make the players pay for it, this kickstarter crap is bull shit meta if you think about it.

why do you guys keep comparing good games with the not so healthy game like haven (no offense but it's true)

in the end those mighty suscription games disappeared, tera, ragnarok, aion were p2p suscription games and now shifted to f2p with cash shop because its a more viable model unless you have a huge playerbase due to the majority of the world having spoiled children with a nice parent that suscribes them to whatever they want.

Ok so i have few questions. I will pay monthly, what if we get wipe? Will i get refund? And what about lags? Can we deduct some of that according to lagometer? What about server issues? It's far from stable, will get something if there are problems. If THEY want to get something then i would like to be given more rights along with "privilege" to play.

Well then I can only assume you played Haven with the original (broken) client, not Ender's, XCom's or any other. And you didn't install any of the several texture packs made by the fans. Anyway this is an entirely different discussion and doesn't belong in this thread.
