Jorb, you want people to pay for alpha test with a price level of AAA mmo. Are you seriois?
For almost all russian speaking part of community price is too high because of $ exchange course.

I dont want to say you didnt deserve reward for your work. Its ofc right. But look at other projects. Pay2play is totaly ridiculous and worst scheme of monetization. If you go this way - game will be probably dead. I played more then 10 mmo projects for past 8 years. Pay2play only works if you provide super high quality content with very good support team and high online. Just make subscriptions for 1-2$ per month and make a various skins for structures or cosmetic stuff and you get more money you probably expect.

I get it, Jorb.

Anyone complaining about stability is insane.

Anyone who feels blindsided by the pay option is validated.

Anyone MAD about the pay option just feels betrayed.

Don't just lump everyone into the "Mad" bin. You're discarding an awful lot of people who support you by doing that.

I actually agree with you. We should have started charging money a long time ago.

Nevermind. I redact all my earlier statements. I've got nothing else to say.

I don't disagree with you Jorb, I've played this game for a long while (just never posted on the forum). I develop games for fun, I can understand wanting to make money from something you've put so much work into. I just don't appreciate the non-transparency. For right now I'll walk away from this game, I'll come back in a few weeks/month once things stabilize and see then. I love everything you do and the hard work you've putting for next to no money, I just feel like you chose the wrong way to implement this.

If others are like me, they might come back in a few or so weeks. I wish you the best of luck, and I'll be back to see how things go!

Yes, we did. Presently we have a grand total of a whooping one thousand dollars in it. 1058,34, to be exact.

We've used maybe another 2k that we've gotten.

Donations have gained us vanishingly little.

Why can't you reply to the rest of the post?
This is the problem with your PR, you never answer any of the questions, you just glance over it and act snidy.
Yes, donations didn't get you as much money as paying for the game itself will, hopefully.
But by being so confrontational and refusing to talk to people without essentially telling half of them to leave(yes, a lot of them are being rude, but you just sprang the payment plan on us, so obviously a lot of people would be pissed off as they've been hyped for months and got no warning)
If you want Haven to be a business(which you obviously do if you want people to start paying for it) then you need to act like a businessman. That means not telling your clients to fuck off and go somewhere else.

2 weeks, tops. the game kicks ass. if more of you got in and actually played instead of sitting on the forums bitching you'd see that.

Tbh i waited for H&H2 release. Not like faightful ones here, but still...
And in fact i`m very disappointed. With current monetization system it looks... let call it weird.

J&L may be not understanding this, but current situation is looks like someone come to investor with a project and no money to fully omplement it.
We, playerbase are some form of "investor". They want us to risk our money for probable future profits (fun, dramas and so on)
I haven`t read forum closely for a long time, but it looks like J&L not revealing alot.

Ok. Now imagine situation, to guys come to investor. With raw and unpolished idea, some strange and unstable prototype and without simple, clear and promising buisness plan...

"Hi mr. Moneybag. We have that strange-looking and oddly working gizmo. And want lotsa $$$ for full-sized one. It`s very profitable stuff. Believe us! No we won`t tell how it works or what exactly it does, but it`s very very good investment. So give us money. the more, the better."

See? I think "GTFO clowns!" will be most polite of answers.

Merchandise would have been a good idea. I could be sitting here drinking from my HnH coffee mug, holding my plushie Auroch for good luck right now. Most online stores like that take care of the overhead - they want to be the store that sells your goods and make it as easy as possible.

I'm not saying it would cover all the bills, but it's something to think about in any case. :D

Because there's nothing to reply to?

You inform me that you are not ready to pay the price we're currently asking for the game. What can I say besides, "that's really a shame, have a good day".

You inform me that other games are free, especially during alpha when they are unstable. What can I say besides, "ok".

I truly do not mean to be rude. Only forthright.
