Me? Yes, I'm new. Maybe that's why I was more open to the initial announcement. I'm sure I don't see all the issues that would arise because of it. But I'm also hoping that a separate Steam server avoids some of the things community has come to accept as normal that to a noob sound like a major advantage caused by out of game features (alts, bots, etc). Then again maybe not, since it sounds like they're trying to support custom clients in the workshop.

I've only been playing the game about two weeks and posts like yours are exactly why haven't chimed in on the forum yet.
Take a break atleast for a year or more from posting on forums besides how do i and other similar sections and focus on learning the game.

Two separate servers one with shorter life + one with long was an awesome idea, I can't believe you guys backed down on that.

That's still happening you fucking brainlet. They're LITERALLY going to have 2 worlds running parallel with each other. The only thing they've changed is they're launching World 16 first. In 6 months they are going to launch a NEW world (and this NEW world will be the one that will be getting wiped every 6 months) while keeping world 16 running.
World 16 will still get wipes, but they'll be much longer wipes, either the same timeframe as wipes usually are currently or maybe even longer.
It's the exact same thing just ordered better. You clearly misinterpreted what their announcement post meant.

What if this was the plan all along and they presented an idea they knew people would hate to make the actual implementation go down easier ¦]

The huinger/FEP ratio is a fundamental property of each food item. There exist crafting buffs that modify it, but they are rather rare.

SnuggleSnail wrote:Is there 'overkill protection' to prevent a 700FEP food from being worse than a 70FEP food in cases where your stats are low

There is not, but I'm not sure I mind the fact that some foods are just for big guys. Standing to be convinced otherwise, though.

NabrinaBlue wrote:Sorry, you're going to have to clarify this one for me. OP says the two words are going to run in parallel, but later says accounts can be linked. Does that mean the link doesn't make the accounts the same on both servers?

The account linking has absolutely nothing with the multitude of servers to do. When logging in, you will see the full list of characters available on both servers, and you will be able to pick server when creating a new character after the second server has been launched.
The "account linking" is just about making Steam login available for an account.

Cayur wrote:I'm wondering, with this new direction, what is the plan if the Steam release starts to get traction?

We talked about it a fair bit on the stream, but we've added back the capability from Salem to run multiple servers if necessary, which is why we'd like to be able to gauge the interest from wishlisting and whatnot to try to predict whether that will be necessary. If possible, I'd like to run only one server, but we'll see. I think it would suck a fair bit to add more servers after the initial one(s) have launched, so I would really like to avoid that if at all possible.

Cayur wrote:Also not sure what's happening, but it doesn't show up on Steam when you search it. "Haven & Hearth" or "Haven and Hearth" have no results as other people have said as well. I also added to my wishlist, and says it's on my wishlist on the store page, but when I go to my actual steam wishlist, it doesn't show up there either.

Other people have also mentioned it, and I also don't know. I suspect it's just an initial artefact of Steam syncing the content between their CDN servers or something, so I'm willing to wait it out for a while.

Imagine believeing for a second that the Central Committee would ever make a mistake.

Not sure how rough the logistics for this are, but be ready to launch new servers within hours of the first one. That will make it a lot more palatable than doing it like, a week later. Especially if people can't actually get in the first server.

It would also be annoying to have a little sliver left to fill the FEP bar, and waste a chunk of hunger if you don't find a low quality food with little fep/hunger to fit the sliver as closely as possible. Probably not a huge deal tho.
