the lack of updates isn't what killed salem for you guys... it was the way you fucked the purity system.
(i understand that purity was meant to be a more endgame factor.. and it should have been... but implementing only part of the purity system like that sucked)

a lot of MMOs go for 6 months or more with out an update and do fine...

Because it had good excuse not having now - it was free.

lol. If that was the only thing we had going for us then good riddance. I don't want to build, maintain or keep around a game of which it can be said that it is only good because it is free.

I've been told not to say this repeatedly now, but I can't help myself: Kindly fuck off.

Have a good day. :)

As stated by yourselves, you are currently unable to mount a fight against those who wish to bot and cheat in the game. How can I justify paying to play a game where others are going to blatantly cheat and could have a completely unfair advantage in the world because of it? I love the permadeath and persistent world aspects of the game but I'm sure you can see why this would bother some of your players who want to play the game in a fair environment. The argument could be made here that every game has cheaters but that really ignores the fact that other games actively fight against cheating and in the vast majority of them legitimate players aren't at risk of losing their character or paid items to said cheaters, the stakes are much higher in Haven.

The new xp system should fight botting pretty well. Also the no spawn at HF rule.

Can we get the distance check removed from the party arrows? Me and my friends want to play together, and the game's mechanics don't provide for that anymore.

Ok, the argument, "But, sir, your game -- which I may or may not have played the living daylights out of for the past seven years -- is and was always a lagging, bugging pile of dung that was never worth a dime, so you might as well gib 4 free, pl0x" doesn't really impress me.

If the game is so terrible then why do you want to play it so badly? :)

You're confusing a good game (mechanics, playstyle, type of game) with good technology. He's complaining that HnH seemed to be correctly priced as free with a donation button when it was buggy, laggy etc.. and that now it seems too expensive for what you get.

I'm curious, Did you really only make around $3000 in donations on HnH, I would have thought more? Why did you sell Salem if you wanted to make money developing games? It was more advanced along the line of making money. After working out what MM made this last year on it, I think it might have been your better bet for part-time work in developing a game.

It was all part of the experience and with a minimal population that might all die down.

Bro there are 7.125 billion people on earth and you worry about 500-1000 people. Worst case scenario if we all players drink poisons as a demonstration, there are another 1000 somewhere in line to fill in the way I see it haven is a solid product and it just needs time to improve.

Imagine haven with 10000 people and the generated map with large seas and ships, that wouldn't happen with free fucking to play.

Also lets not forget now there is payment information and real cash behind these accounts that you're risking by botting/exploiting, one of the many upsides.

Paid subscriptions do not tick when the server is down. The downtime costs you nothing.

Hey, so the one-month subscription can still last you two months!
