Funny thing. People crying about bots. Later they get access to bots. And most of them stops crying on forum and starts using bots.

There is several works in haven which requires a lot of boring dull tedious work. Every day.
First of all - food troughs. Harvesting and planting was automated, its good for quality selection. But most popular bot - farmer, which replant field and put yield to stockpiles, containers or troughs.

PS: Every big village has botters and non-botters. AD, Houses, Amish, Dis, Fire&Ice - all of them has botters. Maybe even New Brodgar. Alot of smaller villages.

Here, a client with bots for you
viewtopic.php?f=49&t=43840

Also, Amber has some nice extensions like automining, leveling bot, autofueling and etc.

Seems that some comments burns a lot, and someone does not understand that the obvious "taking bots to their limits" becomes a bot that plays for you, and that is a "worst case". Is not the autofuel bot, is that while having 30 forges and 60 cruc, it's the extension of the game to levels that should be impossible to play without bots, that is bad and may lead to the "bot player".
You and many others may enjoy play in this way, someone else does not, but justify the use of bots because "there are a lot of tedious tasks in the game", leads to the point described in my comment before.

Autofuel plays for you. Autominer plays for you. Autodigger plays for you. Autofarmer plays for you.
With that logic, even the pathfinding in custom clients will be "playing for you". :D

As for my enjoyment, I have been playing this game for 6 years already since W3 and been doing the things by hands, starting from building a 10 minimaps long brickwalls, to keeping up farms that were tagged as a village full of poor noobs slaves that work 24/7 to feed their feudal. You may enjoy harvesting carrots manually, but I, personally, want to work on massive community projects, game testing, warfare and politics, kingdom management (lately), and most importantly providing the feedback to the devs.

So you think that pestering devs about tedious parts of the game isn't important feedback? You automate that shit so you don't really notice it, but tedium is pretty much H&H's biggest problem and the reason why it has such a hard time retaining new players.

Some of my posts were related to the botting-solving. Like asking for autodrinking without interrupting the action you're performing (mining, chopping the trees and etc.), or letting the animals to store more milk/wool depending on their quality, rather than quantity. As in, decreasing the gap between people who use custom clients and vanilla.
As I have told already, I am perfectly aware how tedious and annoying some the elements of hafen are. People have discussed the issue from the start of hafen and divided into 2 camps: those who think that botters should be banned, and the people who want to see the issue of botting being so popular to be cured.
Do you guys even remember, that picking items from the ground automatically was a bot in legacy? Or you'd have to click on every tile for digging the clay? Or had to harvest and plant by clicking on each tile? Or the curio system being impemented because of the people making macros? It is not like the devs are not aware of the issues and do not do anything towards solving them. Rather, it is dumb to keep pressuring about it when there are many other things that needs to be fixed and you could write something about the stuff they do not know about yet.
MMO is a big enough project for 2 people team, don't demand too much from them.

The devs seem to be oblivious to just how much of an issue tedium is, though, and IMO it is hands down the worst problem with Haven, so yeah, I kinda think it needs constant active campaigning. Constant pestering is the only way things get done, how do you think I got them to put in stat caps?
