Since it's apparently not polite to say bad things about stuff I will not say anything other than the fact the the game biggest problems are still in: the playerbase that drives everyone new (and a lot of old players) away and more important Jorbs and Loftars peculiar way of seeing things like alts bots exploiters etc...

Good luck I guess.

Single ql would b nice, the game is already complex and huge, simple things help

Steam would probably get some bad reviews due to performance, noobness, etc... But at least some new players could stay in the long run

So it would be cool early game to be able to train foxes into Dogs. Then be able to send them after rabbits or something. Would add a whole new mechanic to the game. Plus its no fun without mans best friend.

agreed. new race dogmen pls.

but it has also been the case, over the course of this past year, that the game's income has not, by a significant margin, been sufficient to sustain our present development efforts.
Haven is, and has been, a labour of love, and we will -- barring the unforseeable -- keep it going in one capacity or another for as long as we are at all able to, and money is not much of a factor in that. If, however, our attention has to be diverted elsewhere -- which, presently, is going to become the case -- that will, naturally, affect the rate of development.

I was kind of expecting an announcement tbh, new year, new world ... I've also been harbouring a nagging feeling that you may even be abandoning Haven again due to the lack of income it provides and working on something else instead ... which, although I'd understand, you need to live, reading between the lines is now worrying me slightly ...

But, in the meantime a new world will be nice at this point in time, I think with so many new things that have been introduced over the last few months it makes a lot of us want to redesign our bases and do some things differently.

I agree with Kaios that more needs to be done with Kingdoms and sieges and with end game in general if you want to retain player attention for longer worlds. And, you really do need to do something more with regard to the botting situation, esp in the biggest cases if you are going to put this on steam. :|

I do find the tri-quality system interesting and think it maybe plays a part in some area's of the game but I think it should be removed from farming and animal husbandry and perhaps reintroduced in another format when it comes to weaponry and armours.

I'd like to see animal husbandry made a lot less taxing than it is at present and more in the way of customization via the store.

That's it really ... thanks for all the effort you have put into developing this past world. :)

@ Loftar ... I enjoyed the realm, :) ... it was a lot more work than I had realised initially, and I regretted it not long afterwards, (realms aren't for hermits ... ) but ... I had done it, so I persevered ... and, it grew nicely, even without providing awesome buff items and bonuses and we sort of became like a big island village and all pulled together to help each other and new settlers that arrived. We are right in the middle of building an awesome harbour atm so it's a shame that won't get finished .... anyway, it was interesting and I had a lot of fun with it in the end and met some great new and returning players. But ..... I'm not doing it again on my own! :D

Thanks, btw to Kaios and all my islanders for making the last couple of months of this world special. :D

Also on the previous comments about botting. (I can't find all the comments so I will just quote this one) The problem with trying to catch bots with collision detection is that you have to detect if the player is actually botting first and then collision detect them which may just seem like annoying lag to a regular player. Also, bots have insanely good collision detection and just walk around it or stop. As paradox stated it does cost a serious amount of server resources to continuously monitor for bots where we can have a better ping rate instead.

As a statement as someone who also codes bots, AI is restricted. It can only do so much. Currently it can only do menial tasks such as chop wood or pick daisies. It takes a lot of time to code an AI to fully do a complete process of chopping a tree, drinking water, carrying the logs back, chopping the logs into blocks of wood or boards, and then stock piling the items. That would take a full week to code from scratch at best and debugging it would take time. And it doesn't help if there is an update with botting because it would break the botting client preventing testing and debugging for a short period of time.

The best thing to do, from previous MMO models, is to continuously update the client to prevent bot clients from staying up to date and running but that also means custom clients get nerfed too. Other problem is that you dislike botting however custom clients have automatic scripts you have built into them as well that we all use. Like auto pick up, fill smelter, mine these tiles, sow fields. So a ban on botting would technically be a ban on those scripts as well. And what draws the line between botting as cheating versus a custom client that has night vision?

Botting isn't me being lazy at the game. It more of me practicing coding and scripting while trying to see what I can do and cannot do with AI in Hafen. At least that is how I look at the situation.

I have no immediate answer to that. Will consider.

Awesome news! I really like the single quality idea, although extended inventory is pretty silly imho. Ok, do this, but as addition to verified account. Nevertheless, I'm going to buy 3 month sub at 10.01 :) Oh, and some things I'd love to see in w10+: small inland lakes (like in w2), less rivers, less aggressive bats, DOOR LOCKS, more forgeables, new animals and elite monsters (dragons, elementals, etc), and some late-game content that is really hard to achieve.
In-game name: Balin. Hearthlands resident since World 2.
Skipping W16
