ITT min-maxers pretend alting can't solve 99% of their problems.

Might I suggest though a potential rework of the crime system to grade crimes by location as well as type. So murdering someone on or in your property would result in a less severe debuff than stealing from somebody else's property. With events taking place outside of claims being a consequential mid-point.

The world should be dangerous but there should also be consequences for crimes and game mechanics are currently a necessary substitute for player capabilities (which in many cases are lacking).

I know it would make a somewhat complex set of game mechanics even more convoluted however the class of player likely to bear this added complexity are capable of understanding the system no matter it's complexity.

Mho.

If you knock yourself, red hand will disappear isnt it? you can do it with bow or with stockpile of earth.
maybe redhand should increase teleportation time by 1000%.
Summoning with scents can add some sort off paranoia in the village, but with visitor gate its pretty easy to make vault for every fighter.

Ur right, tho. Adding needless complexities to every system for no reason in a way that doesn't solve any of the problems being discussed, then telling the people it will fuck over by being unintuitive "you were never smart enough to understand any version of it anyway" is the best solution here.

I agree with Erdtod's point, it's terrible user experience that a menu option works differently under different circumstances but the text is always the same. This is an illusion of a fix, but in reality the issue still remains.
Good effort, maybe you'll figure it out next time.

Also the world is too old, maybe expand it or something so people who want to get back in the game have a nice area with no abandoned uber villages?

Seriously though... Are you using a wooden PC which communicates with the rest of the world via smoke rings? Explains why you can't afford your own hats. I've burned my leg on a laptop running Hafen but your issues seem client-side and there's nothing the Devs can do about that.

Adding "needless" complexities to core mechanics seems in line with the development ethos. What's wrong with that even. I offered a solution to what I considered legitimate complaints. Most everything else you and others have suggested is totally biased in favour of your masochistic tendencies.

I offered a simple solution to an issue as it was initially raised and not to whatever confused mess that issue evolved into as the thread progressed.

This game might at times be your personal sandpit where you get to bully everyone else by destroying their sandcastles. You smash your first down on them, you get sand in your eye though. Nothing wrong with that imo. Working as intended. Nothing to see here.

I always assumed (please correct me if I'm wrong) that PvP interaction is intended to revolve around players hitting each other and that spending hours destroying some sprucecaps forge and log cabins and whatever other garbage structures they managed to cobble together is only intended as a mechanic to entice them to fight. Some of you treat it as a core mechanic. No matter the degree to which game mechanics charge you for the "pleasure" and you ask for even less consequences. Effing lol.

The only relevant complaint I am hearing in regard to players declining PvP interaction is the stat gap.

Let us be honest. You don't want a level playing field, you want the high ground. Well, you already have it. Why make the slope steeper.

Fight me. 1v1. Right now. On the beach. Nothing but rocks.

Wrong game.

Admittedly that was a wall of text. Can ramble when I'm full of piss. Time to hit the hay.

Rebalance stat progression meta. Or something.

legacy haven - no development for years, "REEEEEEE game is full of broken systems" , activity and pvp pretty much happening all through the world and much better player retention all through out lifespan of the 2-3 years of each world
haven v2 - constant development, 3D soyness, all of the features to appeal larpers and carebears, QoL, player count and pvp dies in half a year

hmm i wonder which game actually had better systems in place
