Animals are not meant to be meat sack walking around for the taking - personally I like this change. Hunting is already supper easy - back in W7 when you got knocked out by almost everything the animal was more likely to kill you then to leave you alone.

Either face the animal head on in a fight or hunt with a bow and be smart as you claim you are.

The fact, that something is killable doesn't neccesarily mean that it's meat bag. I preffered much more to face animal head on with a bow, and kill it rather than use cliffs, or logs and other shit to block them and generally abuse poor AI of them. Now, as weapon isnt really an advantage i just need to invest pretty big amount in UA, which is not the way i wanted character to go.

You can invest in good armor and go full-aggressive combat deck.
