How long does the Pumpkin Lantern lasts lit?

And when the candle is over (if it ends at all) do I have to replace it with another candle?

Can you give us any hints at how the water table looks? Are there high points that are still too low to build a well? Does it have any correspondence to the land which we can actually see? Does quality of dowsing rod matter? What does the size of the pointing semi-circle mean?
