What if you try to walk through a open gate with criminal acts on?

can you then commits acts of crime? or would you have to ram/bash the wall to be able to pass through without passing through a gate?

Lots of questions for pvp..

Your criminal acts setting does not matter. You are, quite simply, unable to commit crimes on the claim while you are visiting.

Why is it? It doesn't make raiders much worse off than they were.

"Whenever you pass through an open, claimed Gate -- on a claim which you are not a member/owner of -- you become a visitor of the claim in question, and can no longer commit crimes against said claim for the duration of your visit, i.e. until you leave it."

I need to ask, is this in response to our village getting leveled?

Yeah, I'm not a fan of jumping the gun on that claim changes. It pretty much just kills raiding entirely. I foresee so much wrong with it, it'd take me a bit just to type it out.

Does that mean stealing a master key is no longer a ticket to plunder?

If you don't like people visiting, you can always keep your gates closed.
