It is not a big deal, since you can place the catapults close to the walls and shoot with them. If the village turns the vandal on, their pali will get destroyed.
The only reason AD are crying is because they build siege idols next to a village claim and place a house, that they gonna shoot in a complete safety. The defenders cannot get rid of the sieging party, because they turtle up in their siege palisade with full shield idol.
People have to spend sleepless nights to stay awake and defend their village, while the attackers can just afk. I am not even pointing out how the game have turned into "patrol 5 minimaps from your walls every day".

didn't you use the same strategy when you tried to siege brodgar? i don't recall you "placing the catapluts close to the walls" instead you built a palisade box for your catapluts, didn't you?

why is it that you cannot shoot at one's claim, but you have to shoot at a structure on the claim to damage the shield?
is there a reason why they made it like that?

You are wrong and making up stuff for the sake of defending your siege styel. If you are firing 3 catapults at the same time, no-one can repair the walls. I am sure your Amish friends have told you that.

siege idols are destroyable for 24 hours and there's all the timegates when they can destroy the siege place easily and counter siege it pretty easily, you have to build ,etc... a day

And you think this justifies the fact that the defenders have to cut their sleep, work, study and social life because you have set up a siege idol? You might set it up a few days before and gradually extend the village claim towards the sieged village as well.
Field cheirns cannot prevent you from getting your siege engines outside and firing at the walls. Defenders have to turn off the vandal rights.
The attackers can always chose the time of the attack and do it when the people cannot log in. There are not that many people who can spend 12 hours next to their computer. Moreover, if the shield goes down for 30k shield (which is easy to do while defenders are sleeping or gathering the reinforcements) the village is basically gone and you can pack up your things.

Honestly, the game has turned into:
1. Double-wrap your village with idols and have as many shields as possible.
2. Settle in an island (what AD guys complaining about field cheirns are doing)
3. Check your area for 5-10 minimaps away for unknown idols every 14-16 hours (additional hours are needed to gather the people to destroy the siege camp)
4. Check your walls every 15 hours for wrecking balls
5. "Cut your sleep, forget your work for 2-3 days if you want to save your village" game.

You can siege a village over the course of a few days, instead of rushing everything within 16 hours when the defenders are sleeping or at work.

Our siege style? It is pretty much how everyone is doing a siege including you did it the same style on brodgar.
And how many shots does it really take to destroy a brickwall???? There's going to be a huge time gap when you are reloading the catapult and they will just will have repaired the wall meanwhile you are reloading the catapult thus making it impossible to siege, because of the cairn, do i have to build a dozen of catapults and shoot them at the same time because of the cairn abuse?

you don't have to cut your sleep,work, study and your social life to log in once a day and check your surroundings for a siege idol.
just make some legit features with what you could defend your town from inside of your walls instead of building field cairns to abuse the shit out of them.

Obviously building a house on enemy's territory and using it to destroy the village isn't abusive and completely realistic way of sieging anything. People can set up catas, siege for a few hours while the village is asleep, come back later without any siege idols. And removing the only way to prevent the HOUSE ABUSING without fixing the issue is retarded.

It would only make sense if they would make the wall segment unrepairable for a few hours if its been damaged by a siege machine.
It would only make sense if they would make fresh built banners destroyable by anyone for 20+ hours

and lets not forget how dis cares about other's time when they were building a idol ~10 minimaps away in world 7 and extending claim to the wall and building a ram in a crossroad box

So, I am pointing out the obvious flaws of the system, and the only thing you can say is "Oooh, you did this and that".
We are here to help the devs to make sieges better. It was the major reason why we were trying out various things. My report was the reason why the brimstone respawn quantity and the shield damage and regen were changed at the first place since the start of the world.
And I have been reporting how the sieges work to Jorb in PM over the course of the whole world (time issues of both sides, abuses, bug reports and etc.).

Made the animal's "Fell Jump" attack weaker. Restarting test server with that. Feel free to try.
