2 hours between cairns seems a little extreme, maybe instead of making it so you can't expand off fresh cairns, make it so they wont start gaining soak when next to a fresh cairn. That way if you expand a ton of cairns at once it would take a long time for them to set, but quick expansion would still be possible.
(once and futue king btw)

looks like the variable material bug is still happening. These should all be different colours.
