Snakebites were, and are, intended to be lethal. The bug was a very specific interaction. Looking at your character you indeed have a bunch of them, but I have to believe that you had them when you went to bed. Otherwise there is some very obscure bug afoot that I don't know about.

Looking good over all, still think we need some sort of slime cloak or other clothing item (boots possibly, nice jelled souls)

Spitroasting intact animals means as they fell? or rather skinned and gutted like small animals? Might want to add 2 stages to butchering to just remove intestines and entrails.

I know i didn't i always check my wounds before logging out I still don't know how or what happened but i died i know that for sure.
