The gate is probably related to the otter thing they have been working, which could potentially tease that it is coming Soon(tm) since they did the same with Mallards (mallards appeared on the picture of the prior update)

As for what it is... I have no idea
But perhaps... a new magical realm we can visit?
A creative mode? :O
A permanent world? :O
Some random vines an old man is using logs to hold in place, so it's not a door at all?
