Care to elaborate? sounds interesting.

Despite what hollywood and other bad cyberpunk movies would have you think, hacking is just code-author terminology for a patch of code that serves the singular purpose of making the damn thing work. They are often inelegant and rushed, ergo, a hack-job. Going from this context, we can thus surmise that the upgrade of the roasting spit from accepting small inventory object carcasses to accepting large furniture-type carcasses was a unpleasant experience for all involved parties. That has now been refined to allow for future updates more easily.
See also: snowflake code (code that serves a singular purpose and appears nowhere else) and spaghetti code (code that is literally all over the place).
Had it been something that could cause unexpected results, it would be a glitch or a exploit, not a hack.
