It's an old running joke dating way back to something like 2011 or so when Salem was announced. One of the long term goals from development there were to bring back some of the concepts and quality of life improvements into Haven. There was a lot of gnashing of teeth when Salem didn't come out quite the way Haven played. People took it as a bad omen and bemoaned the potential future development of Haven if any of those systems were brought over.

Several years later, and the hybrid is better than either of the previous iterations.

Miners hate this fix. That was so useful.
Make instead liftable carts, it will at least a bit improve the lives of miners. Because move one per one whelbarrow betwen EVERY level of mine that is a big pain!
