Game Development: Phrygian Barrel Basket

Postby jorb » Thu Feb 08, 2018 1:30 am

We've been developing, and here's what's new.

Image

New Implementations
-----------------------
  • You may now craft directly from barrels. A side effect of this is that items reserved/marked for someone else's crafting are now highlighted in red, rather than your own green. Suggested here, among other places. You're welcome.
  • Added "Wicker Picker", handheld basket which holds mushrooms, true herbs, fruits, berries, nuts, leaves, and flowers. The basket works pretty much like the buckets, in terms of needing to be equipped when full, and such. Please be gentle on what you bug report that you can't carry in it. Already decided against Mussels, Seashells & Cave Coral. Suggested plenty.
  • Added "Honey Wayband", medicine.
  • Added "Horse Nomad's Helm", helm. Suggested here.
  • Added "Troll Belt", belt. Kind of suggested here.
  • Added "Hemp Fibre Finery", gilding.
  • Added "Wool Cloth Collar", gilding.
  • Added "Seal Burger", food.
  • Added "Haggis", food. Suggested here.
  • Added "Candy Apple", food. Suggested here.

Key Fixes
-----------------------
  • Fixed a bug by which Toad Butter had stopped giving warts. Funny how we don't get bug reports on things like that, but I suppose it is possible that no one had actually used Toad Butter.
  • Added Last carried status to objects. Whenever you lift an object up with full theft permissions (as you would have off-claim, for example) you are recorded as the last carrier of that object, and if you then put the object down again on a claim where you lack theft permissions, you will still be able to recover your property. Suggested here and here. Do note that this applies to carried objects, and not dropped items.

Small Fixes
-----------------------
  • Reduced the chance for Seal Finger when butchering Walrii. Suggested here.
  • Added some graphical effects to hearthlings logging out.
  • You may now cross(dress) back across(dress) the Stream of Dualities in the character creation room, in case you chose a gender, are unhappy about your choice, and wish to transition, this to remove the trap of otherwise having to reroll the character to change gender. All puns intended.
  • Fixed avatar camera for Grey Seals.
  • Fixed a long standing bug by which crafting twice by a crafting station would break the animations.
  • Fixed a long standing bug, reported plenty, by which you could ride and use a crafting station using synced player animations (e.g. meatgrinder) at the same time, to great effect. You can no longer use such crafting stations while mounted, quite simply.
  • Fixed a bug by which mulberries had two mulberry types. Reported here.
  • Fixed a small bug introduced with claim mechanic changes last patch.
  • Fixed a bug by which the spitroasting animations had gone borked.
  • You may now use Shift + RMB to retreive all from curding tubs. Reported here.
  • Fixed small bugs by which it was, in the realm of the theoretical, possible to cross the world border using Great Halls and Mine holes.
  • Fixed a bug by which the starvation quality penalty to animals was not applied when spitroasting.

As always, if you liked what we did here: Support the patch.

Today's Patch Item, for the fair price of $10, is the "Phrygian Cap".

Store Description wrote:Image$10 Engage in your very own little satanic revolt against throne and altar in this exquisite redcap of liberty. Liberté, egalité, fraternité!

All Gold and Silver subscribers have been awarded the Phrygian Cap, free of charge.

In the Pipe

Enjoy!

Honey Wayband is made from .30L honey, 3 Waybroad, and a string (probably in a cauldron), capped by Perc and Lore, and can heal nicks and knacks, scrapes and cuts, black eyed, and deep cuts, to whom it may concern.

Safe to say it’s probably better than waybroad or poultice in healing deep cuts

damnit i LIKED spitroasting the starved animals of abandoned villages..... now they have next to no use.

thanks for the haggis and apples though. and the honey medicine, hell i shoulda requested that in the forum for it. people in the days of old used honey to cover wounds because bacteria cant travel through honey worth a damn.
Newbie and noob do not mean the same thing.

Neither do figuratively and literally.
