So get this straight - the difference between the new lock types is only relevant to houses and chests, or more to the point the time it takes to pick them, you can lock a steel gate with a wooden lock and it won't make any difference.

That is so. Less than optimal, perhaps, but we obviously didn't want to make gates pickable.

That being said, you may want to install steel locks to be future-proof. ¦]

Or you just might consider adding different material based lock requirement to various gates - as in if someone has the materials to build a steel gate (and the brick wall to go with it) than that person also can spare the steel for the lock.

cause kung-fu housing is much harder then it was before, no one can walk over and punch a house to the ground on a whim as much as they used to... though that can change
