Really? That sounds incredibly unlucky.

If that's the case, make sure it isn't another fulgurite situation here loftar

Are you actually going to investigate it? Or is this another Dakkan situation where you let 6 meteors drop with 0% smelt rate and go "oh right, it doesn't actually smelt."

prob has a crazy low rate chance of smelting in to ore.

I'm not smelting the ones I have unless he confirms that it actually works. I suspect that for the weekly update picture they just god console spawned the bars and didn't make them the old fashioned way to make sure that part actually works.

I've already tested it during implementation. I don't see what would be different here.

That makes it sounds like you haven't tried smelting 50 pieces after all.

Are you implying you always carefully test new mechanics? Because if you want, I can put together a list of additions that have required restarts or bug fixes. At this point, you can't honestly be surprised if people's first assumption is that it wasn't properly added.

BTW Loftar, the lag going on right now is a direct result of smelting meteorite.

Edit - Do I get a dev cape if I reset the smelt timer at 95% every time so the lag keeps going?

Of course not, and I certainly won't be the last to admit that comprehensibly testing mechanics is both difficult and incredibly time-consuming (in fact, I'd probably estimate that half the time required for implementing new things is due to testing, and that for simple things, that ratio only goes up: for simple bugfixes, it's probably closer to 10-to-1), but what I am implying is that I don't see what I could do that would change the outcome, since I tested it under what as far as I can tell was identical conditions. That being said, I'll be testing it again on the real server, just to be sure. And, I mean, "incredibly unlucky" doesn't necessarily mean "impossible".

To be accurate, in order to properly make that assumption, it would not be sufficient to prove the existence of faulty implementations, but also to make a comprehensible (and faithful) list of working implementations, and compare the lengths of said lists.

It is in fact because I'm doing a backup in the background.

Lag was noted when the first batch of smelting happened last night, mayb something to look into.

Smelted another 5, another 5 gneiss.

Edit - Also your tip about creating a new version of EntryChannel and rerouting the send command was what I needed, have fully integrated Discord functionality now.
