Game Development: Smoked Zebra

Postby jorb » Sun May 10, 2020 7:31 pm

We've been developing, and here's what's new.

Image

New Implementations
-----------------------
  • Made poultry, fish, and crustacean meats/filets smokeable.

Key Fixes
-----------------------
  • Changing passwords should now invalidate old validation tokens.

Small Fixes
-----------------------
  • Reduced the general variance in quality from ore.
  • Fixed a bug by which domestic beehives would give twice the intended damage
  • Adjusted the Field Cairn's bounding box to hopefully prevent it being blocked by nearby constructions.
  • You can no longer seal corner posts without permission.
  • Adjusted how Garden Pots calculate their soil and water levels. They can no longer be refilled immediately upon planting in them.
  • Fixed a problem with rotated Great Halls sometimes popping players out inside the Great Hall's bounding box.
  • Prospecting above a water tile should now reveal the presence of water below.
  • Buffed Rabbit farming. Should eat a li'l less. Should breed a li'l more.
  • Buffed pipestuff a bit. Pipes hold more, and pipestuff restores a bit more.
  • Dirt decayed on snow should now increase the height of the tile if possible.

  • Loftar is β-testing the client rendering rewrite. Try it out! With most known bugs now beginning to be ironed out, we will intend to switch the default client download over to the new client before too long. When we do that, we do intend to keep supporting the old client for a, hopefully brief, transition period. Loftar will make a special announcement when he switches the default download.
  • Spent a good deal of time this week just discussing/planning.
  • Time to... like us on Facebook?

Enjoy!

I thought you already couldn't :?

What does this mean? The range in average quality per layer is smaller now? Or that an ore node that gave like 50-65ql ore will give more like 58-63ql ore?

I guess that should be "without permission to build walls", whereas up until now it has simply required Vandalism.

Hey, this is a really good update! Thanks!

That said,
You can no longer seal corner posts without permission.

I think this is kinda abuseable. I'd compare it moving Pclaims poles, or things not cascading when handbashed. The normal user will never be negatively affected by it, but when autists abuse those mechanics it's kinda gross

What would be an example of abuse in this case? Can't say I obviously see one.
