People will cry over not getting details about the updates then. Getting details beforehand, while stressful for everyone, could ensure updates are mostly well received. I think the most extreme example would be Hafen's launch with the payment model.
Even if it's for these small updates while the main work is on OCO. A recent example would be the Yule Stars and Elven Lights, we could've told them the sound alerts on each one were annoying before they put the work in
