The numbers on it make it either useless enough to not be worth setting up the bots, or useful enough that all the salt gets taken by bots. No one wants to go back to salt botting, just let it go, it's a shit mechanic.

Are you sure the issue you have is with salt in that case? Seems more like it's related to botting and how natural resources function.

I am very much team salt unfun, and I'm kinda glad it's bad enough that nobody has even tried to get around the anti-botting measures from our group yet.

That said, hunger being based on how much food you eat instead of how many stats you gain when you can't trivially reduce your hunger consistently makes me very sad. In world 10-13 hunger didn't really exist and I found that a lot more fun

Yes, the natural resource mechanic sucks majorly if there's incentive to collect a lot of them. See: salt every world being complete alt-fests before it got nerfed. And icicles were even lamer before the nerfs/combat skill equalization, where they all just get walled off.

Also this hunger system sucking major ass is a big factor.

I tried to tell everyone it is an over-mathed mess all around. And we just got a different bar and alien percentages that all did essentially the same thing. *sadface*

I think food and stat gain could probably benefit from being as simple as gaining LP from curios. There's way too much thinking involved in eating right imo
