There are ghosts in H&H?

Postby jesi » Wed Feb 15, 2012 5:19 pm

I staked a claim in an abandoned house but didn't cover the whole house. I put a straw bed in the unclaimed part of the house. After finishing the palisade, repairing the house, etc, I logged out. When I logged back in there was a hearthling sleeping in the straw bed. I put a spruce bed in, immediately logged out and logged back in, and there was a hearthling in the spruce bed. (I also moved a skeleton away from the front door to under a tree. When I logged back in the skeleton was gone  )

I expanded the claim to cover the whole house but the hearthlings were still there after a full day (the palisade gate was closed the whole time). Then I destroyed the two beds and the hearthlings disappeared. Can anyone explain what happened? Did I see a ghost. The prior owner left a runestone saying he had been killed. There are several hearthfires in the compound but they aren't logged in.

I can tell you I won't be sleeping there anytime soon.

It's a bug where occasionally it shows someone sleeping in a bed who isn't.

Also, skeletons decay and will disappear.

nice ghost story

oh and about claiming the house, the door determines if the house is claimed entirely or not at all.

It's a pretty strange coincidence if it was nothing but bugs. Also, when the hearthlings were in the beds I couldn't pick the beds up or move them and I couldn't sleep in them. That doesn't sound like just a bug that makes it look like someone is there.

Okay, this is getting stranger. Last night I killed a boar inside my compound and put the hide to dry. This morning I wake up with a boar tusk helmet on my head and a phantom dried hide in my coffer. By phantom, I mean it takes up space in the inventory and in the coffer, but I can't place it in a tanning tub. Now tell me this place isn't haunted.

If the phantom hide is a bug, ok. But how did I get a boar tusk helmet?

TL;DR: OP. Heroin and LSD don't mix. Try one or the other, you'll only be able to afford one anyways.
