Frozen character

Not sure what's going on. I logged in and started playing but the moment I picked up something out of my backpack my character froze! Can't move, can't click on anything else, and numeric demands don't work. I logged out re-installed java, logged back in but my problem still exists . I'm frozen on my hearth fire holding a stupid cone. Any ideas or help? Note: I'm not tech-savvy at all.

I'm sorry I really don't understand all this talk of clients and such. I know very little about computers.
If you're asking what runs the game it is Java 7. I have added H&H to the security blocks that Java has so that I can open the game. The game was working great yesterday then today it keeps freezing ( I didn't change anything from yesterday to today. Only uninstalling and re-installing java 7).

Ok I tried that. Waited and then re-opened H&H. Same thing. I'm standing on my hearth fire holding a dumb cone. It won't even let me drop it.

I also just logged in with a former character and everything worked fine...until I picked up an apple from my bag. Now I'm frozen holding an apple. I can't walk, can't drop the apple and can't use numeric demands....just like my current character...

Did you open ender's client (double click run.bat).

Try using the hotkey I to open your inventory (in ender's client), then drop the item into your inventory.
Remember that it is left click on the ground to drop an item, not right click.

Ok so I opened Enders client and logged into the game successfully but I still couldn't open my bag (even with hotkey 1). And yes I tried to drop the cone using left-click and right click. I saw a fox run by so I know the game is running and the client is working...I just don't get why my character is stuck...
