Urgent: Growing Pines destroy water when growing!

I had a pine tree next to a stream and one of these water tiles became a forest tile- hypothetically this could lead to an odd form of bridge-building, but is probably not intentional.
Surprise.

Oh yeah, that's right. I remember reflecting upon that after I'd first added fir terrain-modding, but then I forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder. :)

Would still want the ability to remove water though. Even if it costs 50 clay a tile.

Could be another thing added to the landscaping menu :P
That, and I really do want to dig my own trenches.

Modifying the water on the terrain would surely be a great deal of fun and I'd love to implement it, but I'm not at all sure what it would mean, in practice. I may very well look into it at a later date, though.

Couldn't that be done with the z-axis? It might be a bit intensive to have to check every tiles depth. But say when it equals 10, it becomes a hole. Holes cant be walked on/carted over. I think 5 buckets of water would be good to fill it up too. Then when another hole is placed next to it, it becomes one entity, that's half full, which would take another 5 buckets to fill up.

There is no Z-axis, though. ;)

I don't know that Z-levels would be the best solution. However digging trenches that then can be filled with water might not be the worst of ideas. Moat anyone?
