Multiple Clients

The worst monsters in the Hearthlands warp the fabric of space and time..

Having read the edit...

While I agree with you in principle, I really don't like the idea of giving certain players an advantage because of their hardware. While I doubt many would have enough computers (or desk space & KVM switches) to reasonably manage the number of alt accounts we've seen recently, even having control of two characters at the same time can put someone at a significant advantage over everyone else. I've been in a game like that, and the players with "mules" really skewed some of the end-game competitions into giant popularity contests.

On top of that, the main can use non-criminal alts as 'safes'. They put valuable items into the alts inventory before logging out and then log both off. The stolen goods in the alt's inventory are now totally inaccessible.

This would definitely help prevent alt raids. : )

one could just drop the loot into a container, log off, immediately log on with an alt and grab the stuff out of the container. they don't even need to be logged on at the same time.

I know this ;) They would not all be able to hide on the same claim though, or ever belong to one alt-created village. On top of that, they couldn't have 3 or 4 alts raid one or more villages at the same time. Lastly, there is still that period of time between the drop and the time the alt gets there. Could be worth something.
i guess they never miss huh

i still don't see how the multiple clients are even working. whenever i accidentally open two clients it says i'm already logged in and i can't do anything with that window.

Explain to me how you would bypass it, please, in detail, with the limited knowledge you have of how it works from my post and no detailed knowledge of how the devs actually go about implementing it.

Well shit, just google for any one of the 100s of IP and mac address spoofers, or you know just hack the client.

MAC Spoofers are typically programs used to show your MAC address to a network as being something else. Not really relevant to bypassing this sort of implementation. Especially if the server checks your MAC once in a while to make sure it hasn't changed.

Hacking the client: Easier said than done. If it was that easy, macros would be a hell of a lot more efficient and you could grind without even having the client in the foreground. Still possible, just more work than it's worth for a game.

Either way, as I said before, if they do feel like cracking it/sending false packets, more power to them : )
