Yes but we should not have ended up in the water. If a animal can kill your boat it would be because it is at shore not in the middle of a stream.

You say you were both shooting the deer with bows, yet it looks like your inventory is the same size as if you had a backpack on instead of a quiver, and there's no quiver in your inventory.. Same with your friend in the party, you can see in the image that he is wearing a backpack as well.

So basically you had a bow equipped but no arrows, and then while you were attacking this deer with your bow your boat was magically dissolved?? Also I don't know this for sure, but doesn't destroying someones boat drown them instantly if they don't have swimming trained/turned on? There's no standing on the water or something.

Even worse, you could have trained swimming while you were "Standing on the water" and probably made it to the other side of the shore. Instead you just walked over to another tile and killed your self.

Yes because a person's initial response to something like that is going to be to immediately open their skills window and purchase the swimming skill in hopes that it might allow them to return to shore instead of just instinctively clicking on the shore.

We had been using slings but my friend was all like. "Hey lets try out bows" I was not going to go make a quiver for us both so he could see if he liked using a bow. As for not buying swimming. When all of a sudden your in the middle of a stream and the boat disappears what would you do? For all we knew we had only seconds to try and get out of the water before we died. (which we did) The point is that our boat was destroyed while we were in the middle of the stream. Not by the edge where an animal could reach us. If boats are supposed to magically disappear in the stream then swimming should be a prerequiste for getting boat building.

maybe their boat was previously damaged and died from a decay hit?
