stone axe does more damage than militia sword

so at 90 str the soldier's sword does equal damage to the stone axe. >90 str the axe is better than the swords. the axe that takes a stone and a stick to make is better than both swords that take 2 bars of either wrought or steel. maybe the stone axe should deal either 1/3 or 1/4 str instead of 1/2 str or the swords should get some additional bonus, either from agi or melee skill.
