Since we are a relatively large group of players we wanted to increase our political impact. I guess we have done that now and as I have stated above, at least for me it is more than fine all the epic stuff is gone. We were literally invincible and that's just not fair game over a longer period. But we didn't abuse that ability regarding other players. Some teasing was all we did.

How does randomly attacking players at RoB "increase your political impact?"

Nobdy was attacked, Klaue just aggroed someone. I apologize for his bad manners, but he wanted to have a little fun with his new powers. Understandable in my opinion, but for safety reasons we stayed there all the time to make sure nobody was hurt...

I am talking about chars like pumpkin who have abused bugs in the past. Don't know if the term I used might be mistakable for native English speakers, since I am from Germany.

I hardly think attacking people at the RoB is "Teasing"; chasing away players with invulnerable characters, disrupting legitimate trades, and especially punching Jokkel for 150 damage.

Dominated by bugchars? Name some.

As for Pumpkin, he didn't abuse bugs, he just macros.

You see a masterful engraving by Blaze. On it is Blaze, bears, boars, and foxes. Blaze is striking down the bears. The boars are screaming. The foxes are in a fetal position. The image relates to the return of Blaze in the late winter of 2009.

Heh, I was one of the teased people. Locke chased me around RoB last night. Water under the bridge now, though. But don't do it again, seriously.

Anyway, I can certainly see your point of view, but I urge you to look at the big picture. Character resets will come, and all that will have meaning in the next world is what you do to help the development of the game. I think we all want a better, bug-free game.

Also, you can wield significant political power even without having a strong character. I am pretty much the weakest guy in CoB, yet I manage to convince people (not just CoB people, mind you) to help me carry out large projects. It's called diplomacy, and I think it's a much more fun game than the pissing contest that is LP grind.

I too would like to see your list of "bugchars"

I bet your list is horribly wrong.

Jokkel is from the same german forum as we are and we talked with him before the attack. It was just a test, he attacked Xybb to see if he was doing any damage at all and then he agreed that Xybb could punch him back. I don't know what he told you about the situation though.
Reagrding the bugchars: I just learned yesterday that you earned all your lp honestly, didn't know about that. But at least delamore and pumpkin have abused bugs in the past, haven't they?

Congradulations, not only are you acuseing others of creating bugchars while creating your own, and hiding your abuse of bugs from the devs to prevent them from being fixed, but you also threatened a bunch of innocent people on a power trip.

Wow, obviously you are pristine lovable people.

Fact: Blaze, me and pumpkin have not abused a single bug on purpose. While there are indeed those that have [*shakes fist a delamore*], they like you, tend to keep it secret. If i find a bug, i report it to the devs literally the same day. You want to know why people like pumpkin or blaze are strong? they have spent a insane amount of time playing, in essence you are saying that you should catch up to them by bug abusing because thats somehow fair, while in reality your saying people who spend literraly hundreds of hours a month for many months playing shouldn't have a advantage over people who have played 1/100th of the time.

You will find no sympathy here, as you are scum.

Next time, PM the devs and let them know, at least. Keeping it secret from the other players I can understand, keeping it secret from the devs is just...slowing down an awesome game

I haven't looked through the entire character database, but the top tier players, the ones that I'm aware of at least, all have stats and stat progressions which lie wholly within reason (Assuming 16hrs of play time per day over a couple of weeks is reasonable). Some have certainly used macros, but I don't mind that. Macroing is, as has been stated elsewhere, something that should be prevented at a game design level, by reducing the incentive to rely on automated gameplay, and not by us trying to police a broken system.

Bugged characters in a more technical sense do not, to my knowledge, exist. Admittedly, we don't really have any meaningful statistics on the player base, as we haven't taken the time to construct a system for gathering that kind of data, but If there are insane level "bugchars" out there, they're at least keeping a very low profile.

I am not quite sure whats up with the rude tone since I am trying to explain myself in a perfectly polite way here. I personally have not threatened anyone, just to make this clear. What my fellow settlers were doing is their buisness at least up to a certain degree.
As to the bugchars, I wasn't aware of that so I apologize. I am sorry that I haven't been attending the game since day one, because all you read in the forums are statements about bug- or uberchas. If I had known that from the start, I might have reported the bug right away.

But here is one interesting thing, and you should think about it before calling me scum again. Just look at the topic in apples for oranges where enigmist is offering the coal. Who is one of the first willing to take it off his hands? Did you intend to buy it so you could dump it in the next river...

@Potjeh, the only person adressing me in a polite manner. You sure are right with your statement, but you see there are more dimensions to power then the discursive one you are talking about. There are also the dimensions of structural and instrumental power. For those some real background like resources is needed.
To sum this up, we will stay in the background from now on, no harassement of players. I will guarantee that, unless they threaten us. But I would be very pleased if people stopped their bold accusations and tried to argue with me on a productive level, since I am nowhere near of being scum.
And lets not forget we are talking about a game here.
