The aggro range on that is insanely inaccurate. It's more just a giant ring saying "OH LOOK AN ANIMAL". People do not get revived in 99% of situations and im sure yours isn't one of those. Coming from someone who has lag drowned...3 times, deaths to stuff like that does suck a lot, but what are you gonna do? Sorry for your loss and if you do continue playing, keep in mind the devs won't (and are far to busy to) bail you out if you die regardless of the cause.

The lagg has always varied greatly. I can only speak from World 3 and on but for most of W3 there was really bad lagg due to the load of players on the server. As time went on, server equipment improved and W4 was relatively lagg free except for the times the online player count spiked above 1500 and then things started to get hairy. In W5 we experienced data corruption and so a system was introduced that allows for constant backing up of the server files to prevent data corruption and loss again -- which is honestly a really good thing. The problem is that this new system introduced a lot of lagg. When and how the devs will fix it is an absolute mystery to me and I'm sure to most others but it's something to look forward to.

When I say death is an integral part of the game and the learning experience, I really mean it. You learn, experience, and grow in a whole new light after dying and retracing your steps, learning how to improve, and developing better means of survival. It's a survival game after all.

Edit: How many revives have we actually had before? I know of *1* that happened and was almost immediately revoked and the character killed again. That was because of an account being hacked and there being clear evidence via server logs as well as a confession from the perpetrator.

I wish you a speedy recovery Ghostless If I can find you i'll be sure to share what LP items I find with you. Stay safe.

apart from donating enough money for sea tribe to buy better servers no the lag is here to stay, it is to stop any more server nukes from happening, and fyi OP the only really unfair deaths that have happened was the server nukes that hit a mouth or so back, I was luck that one just missed me but some of my friend's got hit.

I don't remember this, but I remember two. World 2, when wayneville heard their character's were being reduced and equipment too, and killed some people, who were revived. There was also this one case for someone from Ursa Major named Bear, who lived in a HV south of his town. Jorb thought the HV was impenetrable, so he destroyed the HV, killed bear, and made the pavement + Water change. He later figured out the HV was penetrable and revived him, but I think he quit.

I was referencing the Rage and Gato incident. So there are some cases of players being revived then.

I've only been playing for 4 months or so, maybe more. Never died to lag. Wonder why? Because I wear armor. Been wearing armor from day one. It was one of my first goals to obtain: create armor. Its not attitude, its thinking ahead. If preparation is too daunting for you, try joining a village?

I was pissed off and didnt feel lie playing. tha was my first death so i didnt know that i could inherit traits so when i found out i inherited the traits from my best char. but i couldnt get all my skills back so that kinda depressed my but i found a lucky rabbit foot and gained 200lp from that was enough to get all my skills back and i kept on getting luckier and luckier. Excuse my lack of pucuation and all that jazz

I didn't even realize he had gotten revived.

im pretty sure all have read your post correctly, and yes, this is the view that gets taken here. after all, this is in alpha.
server lag is not your fault, but you have to live with it. if you cant, just reconsider your views on playing for now.
nobody likes lagging to death, many rage, but all who play accept "unfair death" wasting months of work, and move on.
just take it as a sort of natural disaster, like tsunami or hurricane or whatever. it happens.
(btw, bears/boars are there to rape you anyways, lags matter not. talk about "unfair" when you are using the official client.)

That is not an aggro radius in Ender's client. It merely highlights animals. I'm sorry for your loss.
