uitting DWM from task manager might not be a good solution depending on what window affects you are running, as if it isn't there and the system is trying to use it then that can cause system errors. It is worth checking how much memory DWM is using, there are various reasons that it might become bugged and require fixing (solutions about on the internet). You can reduce the affect of it by reducing windows' need for it, ie turning off as many of the graphical windows desktop options that you can in the control panel.
A very easy thing to do that might well help if to go to the personalisation screen and select any decktop scheme that is not 'Aero' as that is a prime contender for processor power munching.
