Just a little question, does it give that message before attempting to login or after?
Also, does it appear when your login is being checked or when you're actually trying to get to the character list? i.e. "Authenticating" or "Connecting"?
Maybe a firewall/software update suddenly blocked off the port required by the game?

The error happens during authentication, that is it never does get to "connecting"

The solution to this is quite simple to
someone like me TBH and if you'd like
me to make it just a littttle bit more
obvious to you is !!
1) Fail less
2) Be more win! (like me
)
3) Get a fail free computer!
4) make sure UDP port 1870 and TCP
port 1871 are open on your firewall
and restart your router
5) Talk to Mister Kraken
6) Make me cookies

this might be a little bit of a juju solution, but in case anyone is still having this problem, I got H&H to work by resetting my router settings (press that little sunken button on the back of your router)
